Hi everyone, I am new here. I am married and a mom of several kids, and I have been an evangelical for most of my life. I have become more and more liberal over the past year. I feel like I am slipping toward apathy, which really bothers me at this point. In some ways, I just don't care any more about my religion, and in other ways, I feel like I need to fight to hang onto my faith. Maybe I am just afraid of losing more friends than I already have by walking away from a more conservative view and lifestyle. I'm not sure....But I guess I still feel guilty for not fighting harder to remain "in the faith," but then I'm not really sure I still want to.....So that's me at this moment in time!

Welcome, pokerface! I know exactly how you feel. I've been there. It's really hard, but you'll make it one way or another. And no matter what--whether you decide to walk away or to stay, it will be okay. When I was losing my faith, I thought it was the worst thing that could happen to me, but it wasn't. (And I know people who have been in our shoes who have wound up staying in the church, so don't think I'm trying to atheist proselytize you. ) Anytime you need to talk, fire away!

Hello everyone! I'm Nora (obviously!), I'm 22 years old, a recently married woman (over 2 weeks now!) who plans to never have kids (no quiver for me ). I'm in the Navy and am currently stationed in San Diego, CA (love it!!). I was a (astro)physics major in college, which was the last straw for the tatters of my faith and I'm an active, somewhat outspoken atheist.

Hi, my name is Dan. I would describe myself as an accidental atheist. I was raised in a household that was barely Methodist. I spent most of my life interested in things like science and math and other "logical" things.
Sometime last year i stumbled on Atheist videos on YouTube (Thunderf00t, cdk007, etc) and found myself very interested in the science and logic involved in refuting Creationism and the bible (especially Young Earth). I then realized that, Hey!, I didn't believe in God. It was such a small part of my life, I never put the words to it.
Since then I've been learning about Christian (and occasionally other religious) beliefs and learning the truth of whats behind them. I consider myself easy going and i never bring up religious discussion unless someone else brings it up (live and let live). I hope to help explain things when people have questions, and hope to learn a little of how others think, since i have never really been there.
PS: My fiance is atheist to.
